Rajiv Gandhi University will hold its 24th Convocation on 30 November 2026 for students of the 2025-26 academic session. The convocation will take place at the Convention Hall on the university campus in Rono Hills, Doimukh. Degrees will be conferred to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. candidates in person.
A maximum of 800 students (Ph.D., PG, and UG) will be allowed to attend in person. Students attending in person must register online between 1 and 15 November 2026, 11:59 pm, on a first come, first served basis. No offline applications will be accepted. Gold medalists and eligible degree holders must also apply online to attend and receive their degrees.
Candidates attending must report by 8:30 am sharp on convocation day, 30 November 2026, and seats will be allocated after security checks. The university will provide bus services from Itanagar, Naharlagun, and Nirjuli to campus at regular intervals.
Students are required to wear traditional attire or dress with khadi-made sash (scarf) only. Those applying to attend in person may collect their sashes from 25 to 27 November 2026, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the designated office. Sashes will not be issued after these dates, and students must present the issuance slip when collecting their certificates.
A rehearsal for convocation candidates is scheduled for 29 November 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Convention Hall.

What happens next
Degrees and gold medal certificates will be awarded in person during convocation. Students who do not attend in person may collect certificates from designated counters later. One parent/guardian is allowed to accompany each Gold medalist or Ph.D. awardee.
