Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will soon begin the fresh admission process for the January 2027 session through ODL (Open and Distance Learning) and online modes. The registration process is expected to start by the end of November or in December 2026.
IGNOU admissions are conducted twice a year, for January and July sessions. The official IGNOU admission and re-registration links for the January 2027 session will be activated on the university’s admission portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Students may apply for various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses through these links.

- Visit the official IGNOU Admission websites: ignou.ac.in or ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Click on the Online Programs or Admission tab to find the registration and re-registration links.
- For new admission, select the desired program and fill in the personal and academic details.
- Upload required documents and pay the non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 300.
- Download the submitted application form for reference.
- For re-registration, current students can apply via onlinerr.ignou.ac.in.
- After a few days, check your admission status on the official site under Student Zone > Student Support > Registration Status using your enrollment number and program code.

What happens next
Admission status will be updated a few days after registration. Students should verify their details and await further instructions from IGNOU. The registration fee is non-refundable.
