Venkata Ramana Akkaraju has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University (IMU), Chennai. He brings a wealth of experience from his previous leadership roles.

Experience and Background

Akkaraju served as Chairman of the New Mangalore Port Authority from 2018 to 2025. Prior to this, he was Chairman of the Cochin Port Authority between 2016 and 2018. He also held the position of Chairman of the Goa Port Authority during 2022-23.
