AMU Researcher Gets UP Science Council Grant for Nitro Explosives Detection Project

Dr. Sharik Ahmed from the Applied Sciences and Humanities section of the University Polytechnic at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has received financial assistance for a research project from the Uttar Pradesh Science and Technology Council, Lucknow. The project aims to improve the sensitivity of metal-organic frameworks for identifying nitro explosives. This research is expected to contribute to the development of advanced sensor technology and enhance human safety.

Dr. Mohammad Shahid is the co-principal investigator of the project. Dr. Ahmed’s research work has been cited 1,112 times on Google Scholar, and he has an H-index of 19.

This initiative signifies a step forward in security and human life protection through scientific advancement at AMU.
