BITS Pilani to award full tuition scholarships for four years to BITSAT top 1,000 rankers from 2027, for those with family income up to Rs 20 lakh and maintaining minimum CGPA 7.5.

The Birla Institute of Science and Technology (BITS) Pilani will start offering full tuition scholarships for four years to students ranking among the top 1,000 in the BITSAT entrance exam from 2027. The scholarships are for eligible candidates whose annual family income is up to Rs 20 lakh, and who maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 7.5 at their campuses.

BITSAT is a computer-based online entrance examination conducted for admission to integrated first-degree undergraduate programmes such as BE, MSc, and BPharma at BITS Pilani campuses.

The scholarship is integrated into the admission offer, meaning that students do not have to apply separately after joining. This aims to help top performers choose BITS Pilani based on aspiration and opportunity, not affordability.

Additionally, in 2026, the number of eligible top-500 rankers joining BITS Pilani rose by 50 percent, with the BITSAT score required increasing from 314 to 324. This rise extended beyond the top 500 to the top 1,000 rankers, with an overall 50 percent increase in joiners from this group.

In the academic year 2025-26, BITS Pilani awarded around Rs 190 crore in scholarships, fee waivers, and fellowships across First Degree, Higher Degree, and PhD programmes. Rs 101 crore of this amount went to undergraduate students through merit, merit-cum-need, and international scholarships, helping one in every four students receive financial assistance.
