Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) invites applications for one full-time PhD fellowship in the Department of Computer Science and Informatics under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme Phase II, funded by the Digital India Corporation, MeitY, Government of India for the academic year 2026-27.
Financial Support for Full-Time PhD Fellow
- Fellowship: Rs. 46,250 per month in the 1st and 2nd year; Rs. 52,500 per month in the 3rd to 5th year or until PhD completion, whichever is earlier
- Reimbursement of Rent (ROR): As per funding agency norms if accommodation is not provided by the Institute
- Research Contingency Grant: Rs. 1.20 lakh per year
- Other terms and conditions as per the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme Phase II
Eligibility
Candidates must have:
- A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree or a 2-year/4-semester master’s after a 3-year bachelor’s or equivalent, with minimum 55% marks (relaxation of 5% for reserved categories)
- OR a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree with at least 75% marks
- And qualified in one of the following national-level exams recognized by UGC: UGC/CSIR-NET, UGC-NET (PhD admission only), GATE, CEED or similar
