Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new online assignment management system for the December 2026 term-end examinations. Eligible students enrolled in distance and online programmes can now submit their assignments online through the university portal. This initiative aims to make the assignment submission process more convenient, organized, and transparent.
How to Submit Assignments Online
- Students must log in to their IGNOU Samarth account on the official portal.
- All handwritten answers for a course must be scanned and combined into a single PDF file.
- The PDF size must not exceed 20 MB.
- The first page of the PDF should include the student’s name, enrolment number, study centre code, course code, regional centre code and name, and email address.
- Before uploading, students should verify that the assignment corresponds to their programme, course, and session.
- Upon successful submission, an online receipt will be available on the portal and will also be sent to the student’s registered email address.
- Students can track the evaluation status of their assignments through the Samarth portal.
- Assignments sent via email to regional centres or any other university office will not be accepted.
Important Notes
Students who have already submitted the hard copy of their assignments to the study or regional centre for the December 2026 session are not required to resubmit online. Likewise, those who have already passed the assignment need not submit it again.
The last date to upload assignments online is 20 November 2026.
