The Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), established by Parliament in 2013, is India’s premier aviation-focused university offering Diploma, UG, PG and PhD degrees. It invites applications for admission to full-time and part-time PhD programmes for the 2027 Spring Semester starting January 2027.

Eligibility for Full-Time PhD
Applicants must have relevant master’s degrees with at least 55% marks (relaxation of 5% for reserved categories) or a 4-year engineering degree with 75% marks. They must qualify a national fellowship test (GATE, CSIR-NET, UGC-NET, JEST, NBHM, CAT, etc.) relevant to their discipline. Specific requirements include:
- Aerospace Engineering: M.Tech/M.E or equivalent degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or allied disciplines, or 4-year BE/B.Tech with the specified marks and fellowship qualification.
- Aviation Science & Technology: Same as Aerospace Engineering criteria.
- Electronics & Communication Engineering: M.Tech/M.E or equivalent in Electronics-related disciplines or BE/B.Tech with required marks and fellowship qualification.
- Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (Aviation System): Same as Electronics criteria.
- Management Studies & Aviation Management: Relevant MBA/Master’s degree with 55% marks and CAT/UGC-NET or equivalent fellowship qualification.
Candidates who qualify RGNAU’s entrance test and interview and have cleared national fellowship examinations may be awarded University Research Fellowship if not holding any other fellowship.

Applicants should meet the full-time academic qualification plus relevant work experience (2 years for M.Tech/M.E holders or 5 years for BE/B.Tech holders). A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer is mandatory. Age limit preferred is up to 45 years.
