The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for its 2026 faculty recruitment. Candidates can apply online for 37 available teaching posts through the CU-Chayan recruitment portal until 16 November 2026, 5.30 pm. Hard copies of the applications with supporting documents must be submitted by 20 November 2026, 5.30 pm.
Eligibility
Eligibility requirements vary by post and discipline. For Assistant Professor positions, candidates usually need a Master27s degree with at least 55% marks, along with NET, SET or SLET qualifications unless exempted by PhD provisions. Associate Professors and Professors require additional research publications, teaching or research experience per university norms. Separate criteria apply for disciplines such as Computer and Information Sciences, Management Studies, Medical Sciences, Education, and Fine Arts. Pay Scale
Salaries follow the 7th Central Pay Commission academic pay matrix:
- Professor (Academic Level 14): Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200
- Associate Professor (Academic Level 13A): Rs. 1,31,400 to Rs. 2,17,100
- Assistant Professor (Academic Level 10): Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400
The retirement age is 65 years.

Application Fee
The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for UR, OBC, EWS and transgender candidates. SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempt from paying the fee.
Selection Process
Candidates are recruited directly. Applications are screened on eligibility, and shortlisted candidates are called for interview by email. Selection is based on the candidate's previous record and performance in the interview. The university may also use a seminar, colloquium or demonstration class.
