Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Uttar Pradesh, has invited applications for the post of Assistant Professor (Temporary) under Advertisement No. 08 / 2026. The vacancy is for the Department of Tashreeh-wa-Munafeual Aza, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, AMU, Aligarh.
Eligibility
Candidates must have a postgraduate degree in the concerned specialty or subject from a recognized university included in the Second Schedule of the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 or recognized under section 35 of the Act, with a valid State or Central/National registration as per Gazette Notification No. 764 dated 26 September 2024. The candidate must have qualified the National Teachers Eligibility Test conducted by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). No prior teaching experience is required.
The post is reserved for the Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) category of Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates who must have at least 40% relevant disability and upload an authentic Disability Certificate on the prescribed Proforma (Appendix-I).
Pay Scale
The post is temporary against the vacancy of Professor Iqtidarul Hasan Zaidi (Retired). The exact pay scale is as per university norms for temporary appointments; details are in the official notification.

Application Fee
Each application requires a non-refundable fee of Rs. 500.00. Candidates belonging to PwD category who upload the authentic Disability Certificate are exempted from the application fee.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on scrutiny and short-listing of applications followed by an interview. The university will form a committee to evaluate the applications. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview, which will be held at the Chamber of the Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU, Aligarh. The list of eligible candidates will be published on https://amu.ac.in/faculties/faculty-of-unani-medicine/notice-and-circular.
Disability claims of PwD candidates will be examined by the University Medical Board before issuing the appointment letter. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
