Indian Maritime University (IMU) invites applications for the posts of Contractual Faculty in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering. There are 2 posts for Faculty (Nautical Science) and 1 post for Faculty (Marine Engineering) offered initially for a six-month contract period, which may be extended based on performance and appraisal reports. Selection will be through an interview conducted during November-December 2026.
Eligibility
Faculty (Nautical Science) (2 posts)
- Age limit up to 64 years
- Essential qualifications: Directorate General (Shipping) recognized Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency and minimum six months sailing experience at management level under STCW Convention
- Desirable: teaching experience in DG Shipping approved institutes, sailing experience on Gas Tankers, AECS certificate possession
Faculty (Marine Engineering) (1 post)
- Age limit up to 64 years
- Essential qualifications: Directorate General (Shipping) recognized MEO Class I (Motor) Certificate of Competency and minimum six months sailing experience at management level under STCW Convention
- Desirable: teaching experience in DG Shipping approved institutes, AECS certificate possession
Pay Scale
Consolidated salary up to Rs. 1,20,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Selection Process
