Indian Maritime University (IMU) has released a detailed advertisement inviting applications for 20 posts on contract and visiting basis across various departments. The recruitment includes Faculty positions in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering, as well as Paramedic, Workshop Instructors for Marine and Electrical Engineering, Lab Assistants, and a Gym Instructor. Eligibility
- Faculty (Nautical Science) - 7 Posts: Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency issued by Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India; Minimum six months sailing experience at management level as per STCW Convention; VICT/TOTA Course Certificate or willingness to complete before joining.
- Faculty (Marine Engineering) - 5 Posts: MEO Class - I (Motor) Certificate of Competency issued by Directorate General of Shipping; Six months sailing experience at management level STCW; VICT/TOTA Course Certificate or willingness to complete; Desirable: Six months teaching/training experience at Maritime Training Institute in India; AECS and TSTA Course Certificate.
- Paramedic - 1 Post: B.Sc Nursing/Diploma/Degree from recognized university or related branch; Preferably below 55 years; Desirable: one year relevant experience.
- Workshop Instructor (Marine Engineering) - 2 Posts: Marine Fitter from Merchant Navy or Petty Officer of Marine Engineering Branch from Indian Navy/Coast Guard or Near Coastal Voyage (NCV) Class IV Engineer; Relevant work experience of six months desirable; Preferably below 57 years.
- Workshop Instructor (Electrical Engineering) - 2 Posts: Qualification and experience as per IMU norms (details in official notification).
- Lab Assistant (Instructors) - 2 Posts: Details as per IMU norms.
- Gym Instructor (Visiting basis) - 1 Post: Details as per IMU norms.
Pay Scale
Remuneration will be as per Indian Maritime University norms.
