Visva-Bharati University Estate Office has issued a notice inviting applications for allotment of various university residential quarters available for permanent employees. Applicants must be permanent staff members who enjoy the rank and scale of pay. Employees already occupying quarters may apply for a change only if no change has been made in the same type of quarters within the past year. Eligible non-academic employees will receive preference for allotment.
Details and Application Instructions
- Applications must be submitted through proper channel and reach the Estate Office by 15 November 2026.
- The tentative date for the meeting of the allotment sub-committee is scheduled for the third week of November 2026.
- Allotment will be made based on seniority in service for employees other than newly appointed Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). For newly appointed MTS, allotment is on the basis of inter-seniority (rank/merit).
- Seniority for academic quarters is determined by the date of joining academic posts only; for non-MTS staff, it is based on the date of joining an eligible post.
- Allotments will be made on an “as is where is” basis.
- Applicants may inspect available quarters on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except holidays) from the date of issue of this notice until the last date for submission of applications. Inspection requires assembly near the Estate Office before starting.
- No inspections are allowed outside this schedule.
