Delhi University QS World Rankings 2027: Falls 11 Spots in Asia

The University of Delhi has been ranked 322 globally in the QS World University Rankings 2027 with an overall score of 70. In the QS Asia University Rankings 2027, Delhi University slipped 11 spots to rank 106, down from 95 in 2026.

QS Rankings evaluate universities on various parameters including academic reputation, employer reputation, citations, international network, and faculty-student ratio. Delhi University scored well on International Research Network, Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Staff with PhD, and Papers Per Faculty.

Although Delhi University has improved its overall score, the drop in rank is due to other universities advancing faster in citations and resource investments. The citation impact per paper remains low compared to top research-focused universities in Singapore, China, and South Korea.

Additionally, the low ratios of international faculty and inbound foreign students have limited Delhi University’s overall ranking ceiling.

Regionally, state-backed funding initiatives in China and Korea, such as China’s Double First Class initiative, have significantly boosted the global standing of regional universities through enhanced research capabilities and funding inflows.

The ranking history over recent years shows Delhi University’s fluctuating position in Asia, highlighting the increasingly competitive international higher education landscape.
